Bert Harsh Park

Address: 5th St. S.E. Moultrie, Georgia
Description: It is the first Historic Grove to be planted in USA Certified Tree City. Many of the trees in the park trace their "roots" to persons important in American History: a Robert E. Lee Sweet Gum; Jimmy Carter Slash Pine; Juliette Ward Lowe Magnolia and others. Each of the historic trees was planted in honor or memory of Moultrie people, past and present. All of the trees and park furnishings were gifts of the community.

Colquitt Theatre

Address: 17 1st Ave. S.W., Moultrie, GA 
Description: The Colquitt Theatre is a contributing building in the National Register of Historic Places in Moultrie's Historic District. This building is one of the few remaining Art Modern Movie Theaters in Georgia. The Colquitt Theatre was built in the early 1940's. The interior of the building suffered considerable damage from fire on March 2, 1956 while 600 people watched a movie. All escaped but $250,000 damage was done. The interior was remodeled and then again opened in 1958. The theatre continued to operate until October 15, 1978. In August 1993, the City of Moultrie was awarded a grant to renovate the theatre into what is the Moultrie Senior Center.

Confederate Memorial

Description: This 30 foot monument of Oglesby Marble with a 12-foot base was erected in 1909 to the memory of Colquitt County's Confederate heroes and is located on the Courthouse Square. In 1906, the Moultrie United Daughters of the Confederacy Chapter began a fund raising campaign to erect this memorial and it was formally unveiled on Memorial Day in 1909.

Colquitt County War Memorial

Description: This memorial, located on the Courthouse Square, with its eternal flame was dedicated on July 4, 1976 to the memory of Colquitt County men who served ruing time of was and died in service. This includes veterans of World War I, World War II, the Korean War and the Vietnam War.

Colquitt County Courthouse

Description: Preceded by a log building and then a two-story frame building, the present courthouse was constructed during 1901 and 1902. Seeing the great need, the County Commissioners placed a 1% levy on property to raise the $27,000 needed for its construction. In 1938, the Public Works Administration tried to persuade the county to tear down the courthouse to build a 6-story building that would also house the jail. However, because the county was in debt and election were near, the commissioners decided against the plan. In 1955, the inside was completely renovated to add to a third floor and other modern facilities at a cost of $285,000.

Chamber of Commerce Building

Description: Built in 1915 at a cost of $30,000, the Colquitt County Jail was termed "the finest, best architecturally designed jail in Georgia" at the time. Oriental brick was exclusively used, and the only woodwork used was in placing the windows. The floors are made of terrazzo. The top of each story, as well as the foundation, is Georgia granite. At the time of the jail's opening, it boated electric lights, steam heat, shower baths, tubs and sanitary toilets. The three-story building now houses the Moultrie/Colquitt County Chamber of Commerce and Economic Development Corporation.
