Flint River Landings

Thronateeska "place of flint" is a ancient river where the Eastern Woodland tribes  built numerous villages to be near  a great resource for making their spears and arrows.  The Flint River though smaller than the Chattahoochee is no less a place to enjoy and feel the energy of a living breathing body of water.  Even though the largest city in the region Albany lies on the river,  there are long stretches where there is very little development.  Most of the plantations in the region lie along the wooded banks of the Flint.  Fortunately there are a few spots where an opportunistic angler can put in their boat.    Even better just imagine sitting on the bank under the shade under cypress trees with the fishing cork just flowing along in time with the river. Here are a list of landings along the Flint River in southwest Georgia.
