Bainbridge College Nature Trail

Description: The Bainbridge College nature trail on the southeastern side of campus, has a 400-yard boardwalk. Look for warbler and towhees in the mixed hardwoods surrounding the small depress ional wetland.

Earle May Boat Basin

Description: The 500-acre park surrounding the boat basin has a 1/4 mile nature trail including a boardwalk running between the Flint River and a small slough.

Ralph King Landing

Description: A small portion of Spring Creek can be seen from the boat landing. Just south of the landing on Seminole WMA is a bluff overlooking waterfowl, wading birds, and other species using the islands of cypress and cattail. Approximately 3 miles of woods road that are not suitable for street vehicles are available for walking.

Big Slough Landing

Description: A number of bird species can be found in the upland pine-hardwood stands along Big Slough during all seasons of the year.

Faceville Landing Park

Description: Rolling hills covered with pine and pine-hardwoods in the ravine often yield a number of birds. At the landing, you can scan hundreds of acres of water and standing snags and sees rafts of wintering waterfowl, osprey, cormorants, and other aquatic birds.

River Junction Landing

Description: When birded diligently, the pines and hardwoods in the ravine often yield a number of birds. At the landing, you can scan hundreds of acres of water and standing snags and sees rafts of wintering waterfowl, osprey, cormorants, and other aquatic birds.

Chattahoochee Park

Description: This park contains rolling hills, steep bluffs and ravines. A narrow lake finger near the recreation area provides an opportunity for close looks at some aquatic birds. During weekdays, the Turkey Flight Overlook is closed to vehicles and provides a pleasant walk along the bluff overlooking Lake Seminole. A short loop trail winds back to near the parking area. The overlook is over 100 feet above the surface of the lake and provides and opportunity to scan the rafts of wintering waterfowl or look for osprey and eagles with a spotting scope.

Jim Woodruff Lock and Dam (East Bank)

Description: The road leading to the lock and dam, the parking area on the dam, and the fishing area below the dam provide good places to look for birds. Look for warblers and other forest birds at the small picnic area along the entrance road, shorebirds along the face of the dam, waterfowl out on the open water, and grassland birds near the fishing area.
