Georgia Regional Development Center The Southwest Georgia RDC is a regional state planning agency covering Baker, Calhoun, Colquitt, Decatur, Dougherty, Early, Grady, Lee, Miller, Mitchell, Seminole, Terrell, Thomas, and Worth counties in southwest Georgia. We provide a variety of services to localities throughout the region and are governed by the region. Our services range from traditional planning services, zoning ordinance planning and economic development, to more specific areas such as human services and transportation. Navigate through the menu to the left to explore what the RDC can do for your locality. The Southwest Georgia RDC has a staff of eighteen employees. You can view the entire staff here for information of their position and duties. Each staff member is skilled in their area of duties to better aid the region. The RDC's Board of Directors is composed of representatives from all fourteen counties and forty-four cities in this region. The Board of Directors meets monthly to review and discuss the activities of the RDC (Click here to view up coming meeting schedule). Committees have been formed to better focus on specific issues related to the region, such as transportation, human services, and economic development. The committees meet bi-monthly on prescribed dates (Click here for upcoming committee meetings). As a result of the 1989 Georgia Planning Act, Regional Development Centers throughout Georgia were formed. Today those same agencies are continuing to develop and change based on the needs of their localities. This RDC has gone through dramatic changes in the past years. We now can provide a variety of services that require high levels of education and experience. We continually strive to keep up with technology and its uses so that we may better service our localities. The RDC currently has 18 working staff members.
